Too Late For Your Art Dreams To Come True

You always hear, “It’s never too late to start going after your dreams.”

They’re lying to you. One day it will be too late.

It comes in many forms.

You die. Your spouse dies.

You get sick. Someone closest to you gets sick.

You start a family.

Single Parent.

People rely on you to survive.

Bills.

The car broke. The heat isn’t working.

It becomes, “Let me just get through these next few months and then I’ll start.”

Once I get (insert crazy art things you think you need), then I’ll start.

After the holidays, I’ll have more time.

After the kids sports season is over, I’ll have more time.

Shoot, now I need my hip replaced.

How did all this time go by?

I’m embarrassed. Nobody even asks anymore.

How do I know? How do you think I know?

If you’re lucky, too late might mean someday.

But one day too late will be too late.

So let’s get on it!
